Core FTP

I am still getting an error message that the file index.html could not be found..What am I doing wrong!!!!

The error is telling me that I am missing index.html ...but the file I am trying to upload is showing htm..does that make a difference? And if it does how do I change it..and I thought I knew a lot about computers...

What file do I name index.htm?

I am having a great deal of trouble uploading my files onto the Internet. I have created a new web site, and it is telling me that the files are transfered, but when I when I try to reach the Internet Via web...nothing. Any suggestions as to what I am missing!!!!!
